Triangle fore grip

I'm building a sturgeon rod for a friend and I just confused myself!
I was playing with the grip before I was going to glue it up and am now wondering which way you glue up the grip a flat side down or a point down????
Both feel comfortable but I'm wondering which way will be better under load, my friend has small hands for a man.

Edit: I thought some more, and didn't like my logic.

Don't know if there is a right or wrong way but I always have a flat side on top. Anxious to see what others do.

Flat side on top - that's the only way it will even remotely fit your hand and allow the line to be controlled from the top. Refer to the article on grip shape and ergonomics in RodMaker, volume 10 #3. It covers the triangular grip shape pretty well on all counts.
