Montague Rod 6570 6ft.

I picked up this old wooden handle rod for pennies. Looked pretty cool. Who can tell me anything about it. Does anyone know where to find replacement guides like these?

Also, look closely at the tip. It looks as if something is broken off the tip, but not quite sure what it could be.

Thanks for all your help.

What you describe as a "nub" is the old weld mark where the brace for the original roller top was once fastened. The Aftco roller was simply slid on by a subsequent user once the other one had broken off.

The rollers on that rod were once in widespread use, although they were not particularly high quality. I'm not sure you could purchase new ones today although you may be able to scrounge some decent used ones from yard sale rods.

Thanks Tom. The term "nub" was all I could muster up after some Saturday evening refreshments. I've been told these guides were made by Allen Manufacturing, a now defunct company.

I'll scrounge around to see what I can find to keep it original.
