Is Doc Ski going to be there? I've wanted to meet him but after seeing the pics of the last ICRBE and the WCS I'm a little scared. Re: The 2009 International Custom Rod Building Exposition

Tom,
Praise the Lord, I was afraid the ICRBE was about to die! I don't even have my 2009 calender yet! Get the word out that High Point is served by Amtrak. Snow does not affect Amtrack as much. Then, If Billy V. and all the Nerbs get snow, they can get a Pullman and get to High Point easily! I'll be there, even if I have to leave on Thursday. Just please, no blizzard! Well it looks like I'll be spending less money on hunting equipment and saving it for a better use, the 2009 ICRB show. I was very dissapointed in not being able to make the last one, and this is one you can count me in on,. i'll be there.....
Thanks for the good news Tom Fernando Torres-NERB Re: The 2009 International Custom Rod Building Exposition

Ed,
Good point about the train!! Runs from New York to New Orleans and the station is a couple short blocks from the Raddison and Showplace. I walk right past it on the way to breakfast. Mike (Southgate, MI) If I don't want to, I don't have to and nobody can make me (except my wife) cuz I'm RETIRED!! Re: The 2009 International Custom Rod Building Exposition

1 block from the Radisson, actually. 2 blocks from the Showplace. The Cresent comes in both north and south early each morning around 2AM. The Carolinian comes in north and south about 10AM and again about 7:30PM. The Cresent has been running for something like 60 years and is pretty nice - extremely large and wide seats.

I've been using the Crescent the last (2) years. Nice trip, no hassle. I leave eight miles from home and end up one block from the Radisson. Re: The 2009 International Custom Rod Building Exposition

Great news!
I've been to all the previous events and am looking forward to the 2009 one - and I'm only a hobby builder. There is nothing to compare to this event for: (1) learning more building stuff (continuing ed), (2) seeing more new building product, (3) purchasing items at favorable prices, and (4) associaing with fellow rodbuilders. Looking forward to it. Stan Re: The 2009 International Custom Rod Building Exposition

Tom This is really GREAT news. What a super opportunity to meet other builders as well as those that create, manufacture, and distribute those blanks and components that we depend on to get our job done. Also the opportunity to touch and feel those blanks and components is priceless as is the ability to actually buy items at competitive prices and carry them home. One technicality, if the 2009 ICRBE is on Sat and Sun wouldn't the dates be 2/21 to 2/22 since this year was a leap year? Re: The 2009 International Custom Rod Building Exposition

I'm going by the dates the Showplace and Radisson sent me. You may be correct. I'll look it up and make sure I get the correct dates in place when I update the official event website. Thanks.
