Marco -- Could better help you, if you would provide the model number of the rod in order to convert to a blank if "Possible". The reason I use the word possible, is that not all blanks are even offered for every rod model they have. Loomis has several hundred rod models and only around 160 or so blank models offered. Some blank models cross over to a rod model and then again, there are a lot of rods offered and no blank model offered for sale.

I think they use the same number for the blank. It is the letters it is the letters that define the type of handle it may have. Do a check by seeing what sponsors are carrying in a GLoomis blank then go to GLoomis and see if you can find their completed rod. Just a thought. I believe I am correct if not someone correct me. I haven't built a Loomis in a few years.

I build a LOT of rods on G Loomis blanks. Quite honestly, the entire thing can be a bit daunting. Some factory rods have NO blank equivalent, some blanks have no factory rod equivalent ... better yet, some factory rods do have a blank equivalent - but it is in an entirely different category. To make matters a bit more confusing for everyone - the colors are modified as well.

Do yourself a favor and call Bob at Custom Tackle - he can help you "unravel" the mysteries you come across AND make alternative suggestions when a blank isn't offered.

Nothing complicated at all. All you have to do is remove the "R" from the product number (it stands for Rod). The other letters are the taper/style of blank, and the numbers represent length in inches and power. As Bob mentioned, not all Loomis rods are available as blanks, so you may come up with a code that does not show up in their blank list.

Their list of blanks is on the G Loomis website.
