Robert, Ray, & Kevin - Thank you for your gracious Southern Hospitality.
Great service is a low bar to hurdle in my book, it's expected, albeit a reciprocating polite way! Robert, Ray, & Kevin opened the doors to FishSticks for my friend Bob and I. During the holidays I decided to take the 5+ hour trip for some purchases. I put this visit off for months, reluctant to impose on an online retailer. But I really wanted to "see & feel" the rods and I was going to have a ton of questions, so I decided to impose. Conclusion: the products they carry are top shelf and the information invaluable. And, I learned, they carry far more quality products than the website list! My visit turned into a "mini/marathon" seminar thanks to all the help and advice. Yes, FishSticks is an online retailer that welcomes visitors. Retail shopping with the entire shop to yourself and the owners doing more than reasonably expected. I found my products and my education advanced, but most importantly I made three great friends and worth the drive. If you enjoy doing business with "owners" and desire honest help, call and stop by their shop. The shop is located just outside Richmond, VA. Take your wife to the historic district in Richmond, stroll the cobble stone streets, dine, score points, and stop in on FishSticks. You and your wife will be happy. If you want to fish or just drive with a buddy, well you know what to do! If you're lucky, Ray will bring his new snake skin rod to the seminar - it is truly fine craftsmanship. To the wholesalers that supply FishSticks: Your lucky to have them and you'll be sorry if you choose to lose them! Thank you for your time reading my accolades, true and honest, as expected. ~Mark J. Mire Charlotte, NC P.S. To my people in the "DEEP SOUTH", if you bring the Gumbo they will certainly serve it with the all familiar welcome. Or, you can bring crawfish (pronounced "crau-fish" for you northerners, i.e. anyone north of I-10), but please advise - I will meet you there! Yes, I am a Cajun expatriate. Mark,
I couldn't agree more; they've bailed me out twice in the past month with a couple items I had backordered with another supplier, and they went well above and beyond what I would have expected for the small amount I spent. Outstanding service, and great guys to talk to on the phone. They will be seeing a lot more of this rod builder's money in the future. Walt Davenport "Roadhouse Rods" Edited 1 time(s). The shop is only twenty or so minutes from me, and these guys are top notch. They are great. However, if you really want to keep the wife occupied, couple the trip to FishSticks4U with a trip to Colonial Williamsburg. It's as easy as Richmond (almost mid way between the two), but lots of stuff to keep her busy and unaware of what you're doing.:)
