Carbon Fiber Sleeves-- Whichaway?

Which way do you go on sizing the correct carbon fiber sleeves? I see they are sold in 1" dia and the next size is 1.5" dia. Do you buy the small ones and open them up to slide over the grip and then cinch em back down, or do you buy the large ones and stretch heck out of em to make em smaller? I know the article says to push the ends in to make the sleeve larger but are the sizes denoted, the relaxed size, the maximum size, or something else? Most of my grips are around 1.09 in places and may be as small as .875 in others.

For the price, just buy all the sizes available and go from there.

Hi Greg,

This same question was asked earlier this week and the answer was go larger. If you do a search for the info you will find the thread this info was on. I think it was Tom that answered the question.

Hi Greg, I think the 1" size would work well for the sizes you gave for your handles. I originally ordered the 1" size and was told they where out until the beginning of January. I got in a hurry to try this stuff and went with the 1 1/4", it ended up being to big for my needs. I am trying to use Fuji IPS seats and I think a little tighter will go a long ways. The foam will be grey ( maybe) so if the weave stretches a little it will not show except for the pattern being a little spread out. I am thinking of making a wadding stick out of the size that was to large. I think you would be good with the one inch material. Have a great day, Rich.

Better a little too large than a little too small. They work like the old Chinese finger traps and you can pull the ends to tighten them down on your core. If you go too small then you have to open them up and you'll be able to see the core underneath.

Possibly a whole 'new' look? Purposely open them/ color the core then install....
