Bryan,
His email address is cfb@cfburkheimer.com. Kerry does make some fine rods, but the ultimate, I don't know about that, he makes a phenominal spey rod. The only blanks I've seen sold outside the shop was at Andy Dear's shop, Lamar Fishing, some years ago. Andy can maybe help you more than most of us with info. Re: C F Burkheimer blanks

Excellent product, although often slow or very difficult to obtain. Andy may still have some in stock, maybe.

Do you think there really is an "ultimate" fly rod?? My experience is that there is probably not. My taste in rods changes and fishing conditions necessitate a "quiver of rods" rather than just one. But good luck with the quest. You might check out Tom Morgan also, if he is still offering rods. Re: C F Burkheimer blanks

An "ultimate" fly rod will be one that is ideally suited to you; your fishing methods; the fish, and the actual conditions you encounter. Some manufacturers are willing to create custom blanks to meet your own specs. CTS would be a prime example. Andy Dear is the man to consult for one of those. My guess is that even if you get one and the build exceeds your highest hopes you will find yourself seeking another "Ultimate" rod further down the line. It is not unlike those tasty chips.. I bet you won't be satisfied with just one.
