Hello everyone, this is my first post , but I need a little help. I was recently doing sum renovation work in a customers home, and I found a rod tube inside a wall when i looked inside I was surprised ti see a rod sock with a rod. The rod is a 10' ,3 piece split cane fly rod, Made by a company called AL&W, of Toronto. as it says on the rod sock. I was curious as to if anyone had ever heard of these rods. and if they are worth any significant value. Any input would be great. thanks alot.

I'm not familar with that name and doubt it has any significant value (it will have some). But better to be safe than sorry. If you do a search here on bamboo rods you can find some sites listed where folks might have a bit more insight on the lesser known bamboo rods and their value.

Allcock was busy making split cane rods as early as the 1870s and exporting a lot of their rods to Canada. This one sounds like one of their salmon rods. Not real valuable, depending on condition could be up to $150, but a good quality rod.

Yes the rod is in mint condition and is marked on the blank, al&w Trusty.dont know if this is the name of the builder or name of the owner.
