Hello everyone, this is my first post , but I need a little help. I was recently doing sum renovation work in a customers home, and I found a rod tube inside a wall when i looked inside I was surprised ti see a rod sock with a rod. The rod is a 10' ,3 piece split cane fly rod, Made by a company called AL&W, of Toronto. as it says on the rod sock. I was curious as to if anyone had ever heard of these rods. and if they are worth any significant value. Any input would be great. thanks alot. Re: fly rod?

I'm not familar with that name and doubt it has any significant value (it will have some). But better to be safe than sorry. If you do a search here on bamboo rods you can find some sites listed where folks might have a bit more insight on the lesser known bamboo rods and their value.

Allcock was busy making split cane rods as early as the 1870s and exporting a lot of their rods to Canada. This one sounds like one of their salmon rods. Not real valuable, depending on condition could be up to $150, but a good quality rod. Joe Douglas Re: fly rod?

A few years ago, I was helped identifying and valuing a rather unusual cane rod found in the attic of my father's home from a maker/restorer named JD Wagner. I just found his website, [www.wagnerrods.com] Good luck! Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
