Isn't that where Ken Whiting went to when he left Airrus rods just a little while ago? Re: e21 fishing rods?

Spencer,
That is basically what happened. Apparently someone in Europe makes the blanks for them. I havent seen one first hand. Post's I have read on them at a few sites mention that the craftsmanship isnt what they expected considering how nice the airrus rods are. But who knows how true an internet post is. :) Re: e21 fishing rods?

The rods are made from Curran, a biofiber derived from carrots. Biofibers are the future of composite material construction. Currently the curran is molded around a thin carbon core, but as the technology improves we could see 100% curran fiber rods. The modulus is higher than that of carbon and much stronger.
It's a little too early to tell how things will pan out. I have two of the curran made rods from Europe. They're quite good and sure to get better over the next few years. .................. Re: e21 fishing rods?

I wonder if they are orange because of the fibers or if they are pigmented/dyed/tinted orange for marketing purposes. I'm guessing the latter. Re: e21 fishing rods?

Curran is naturally a dull orange and you wouldn't have to add anything else to get the color that you see on the "Carrot Stix." They may very well enhance the color with some additional pigment. I really don't know. Being a product that is molded, the color can be "built in" rather than painted on afterwards.
Other biofibers are currently being researched for similar use. Carrots are not the only plant species that may be suitable for this process. .................... Re: e21 fishing rods?

Tom, were you able to build on those blanks or do you have the factory produced rods? Is there any way for normal peeps like us to get our hands on those blanks to try them out? AC FishinFreaks Rogers, MN Re: e21 fishing rods?

They only offer finished rods at this time. Sorry.
