Dear all,
thinking about to build fly rod with two different fighting butts, a regular 1. something inches, and a long one with maybe 3.5 inches. I intend to turn them on my own and do not want to buy finished ones Up to now I have just seen the necessary hardware from Am Tackle but have no experience with these extensions. Are tehre other manufacturers which are doing them? Please let me know what is your experience with these removable ones from quality point of view, are they giving a solid connection tend they to become loose or shaky... Rgds, Ole Re: Experience with removable fighting butts / rear grips

Never tried Am Tacks, but all the others I've used worked very well structurally, my problem was I never seem to leave with the right setup or none at all when I got to the river. Thought about putting another small pouch in my rod bags for the extensions, but never did. Also it makes you maybe have to get a longer or custom tube for the long butt, iff left on. Now I just put on a permanent butt. Re: Experience with removable fighting butts / rear grips
