I was wondering if anyone had any experience with installing one of these new Camo real seats.
I have received the real seat and it is unlike others I have seen. It is in 3 Parts. Have I received a broken one?

Hoping someone has installed one of those. And I wont have to make an embarrassing call to the folks I ordered it from.

I have also seen this in the description
"The deluxe reel seats are available in classic spinning and trigger configurations and feature self-aligning hoods finished in black. Take your next rod to the XTREME!" The self-aligning is what is possibly throwing me. Any ideas?

Hi Brad,

Don't be embarrassed, the only way we all learn is by asking questions. Yes, the reel seat is made in 3 pieces on purpose (as is any graphite barrel reel seat) as opposed to a one piece injected molded graphite reel seat.

To make the Extreme Camo spinning reel seat, we wanted to take the extra effort to camo just the barrel of the reel seats and not the hoods. So we start with a 3 piece reel seat with a graphite barrel and camo just the barrel. In contrast to a casting reel seat which we camo the whole reel seat (see link below)

You will see the graphite barrel has a longer section which is not camo color, these "ends" simply go into the larger graphite hoods (it does not matter which end goes with which hood). Simply use some epoxy and glue them in place - BUT be sure to align the hoods so that a reel seat will fit in when the seat is glued.
