I'm not sure about fly rods, but, I believe the one guide for every foot of length + 1 and the tip are still an acceptable starting point. If that was your question.

A size 6 ceramic guide is about the same size as a #1, Size 7 ceramic a size #2, Size 8 a size #3, seeing a pattern?

If you wish to use the New Concept Guides, you would not be using snake guides. I guess I don't really understand your question.

You would have to use a spinning reel for that system. There is no choke point on a fly rod/fly reel combination.

The only portion of the NGC that really applies to fly rods would be in the area of guide sizes. You only need three - your butt guide, an intermediate guide and then get right down to the smallest guides you intend to use (running guides). Skip all the silly in-between sizes. They're not necessary.
