The ATC version of the fs764?

Has anyone used the ATC version, and if so, how does it compare to the shakari now that Advanced Tubular owns them?

A guy on another site I visit has really been impressed with the ATC blanks. He's built on a couple, and if I remember correctly one of them was the 764, and he said it ranks right up there. Looks like a good blank.

Justin;
Ranks right up there with what?
Also are you referring the SHX764 x flipping stick blank or one of the cheaper models that it compares with?

I was hoping to compare it with the SHX764.

The SHII 764 was by far the most popular of the bunch I believe. You need durability, if you can't feel a fish only 15 ft away you have a problem no rod will fix. I still use a Fenwick E-glass flipping stick and have no problem detecting the fish.

I have and prefer the SHX764 flipping stick. By far the best I've used

The SHX version was a telescoping blank. I really like the SHII and ShIII one peice blanks they also make great frog rods. I haven't used any ATC blanks they may be great blanks but they won't be the same as the Shikari blanks because they aren't built on the same mandrels, last I knew they were still in OK.

I think I remember someone on here saying Rainshadow had a blank very similar to the FS764. Good luck.

Talked to a ATC sales person Friday. They said that the blanks we all liked from Shikari aren't going to disappear.
