I would appreciate any thoughts and suggestions for a salt water graphite surf rod blank. I'm thinking about a 11' 2pc 15-20lp test mono and can really haul bunker chunks and 1-2oz lures. Some idea of prices would really help me out. Does any one know about the SCIII surf balnks? Thanks in advance to all those who reply!! Re: HELP! I Need Surf Rod Blank Suggestions

Chris, Here's one to consider : Rainshadow SU1264F 10'6" in 2 pc. 15-20 lb. line wt. moderate action or go up to 11'6" 20 - 30 lb. mod. fast action. These are graphite glass composite and good entry level prices. St. Croix blank SCII graphite GS110M2 8 to 25 lb. test. Excellent choice but may be pricier compared to the composite. I'll be glad to quote you prices or further info by email. Rich Richard's Rod & Reel Re: HELP! I Need Surf Rod Blank Suggestions

Chris, Check out Lamiglas and the Ron Arra XRA132-2 or even the standard GSB series. The XRA will be close to what you are looking for. Hopefully Todd from Lamiglas will jump in on this. They have a great 2002 catalog that Todd just sent me. You should have one. Bill OConnor Re: HELP! I Need Surf Rod Blank Suggestions

Chris, I would suggest the following: from the Standard Mod series: GSB1322L rated 2-5 oz From the Ron Arra Series: XRA1321-2 rated 7/8 - 3oz. These and many others are listed on our web site. Todd Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
