Problem with concept guide spacing:

I'm building a MH 7' St Croix spinning rod for my Dad, the reel is a Shimano Spheros 5000 series.
When I line up the reel spindle with the table edge, the rod NEVER intersects the table edge. The reel is a little big but not overly so for the intended purpose. This rod is for inshore casting and light bottom fishing. What should I do with the guides? Thanks. Re: Problem with concept guide spacing:

If you do some searching here you will find lots of answers to that problem. What I do is flex the blank to where the tip is 90 degrees to the butt of the blank. Where the major curve of the blank ends, I use this as the intersection point. Re: Problem with concept guide spacing:

Go to page 2 and scroll down and you will see that I asked this question. Tom Kirkman's answer of 55 inches was perfect for my blank, also a 7 footer. Re: Problem with concept guide spacing:
