Pink Blanks

OK I made a big mistake. I picked up on of the value E-Glass blanks from Mudhole that is Pink and tied up a rod as a gag. A few ladies on our board have seen the rod and they want one. The quality of the blank left a lot to be desired - tip top had a nice curly cue to it and the blank wasn't concentric in its roundness - if it breaks so what it was a gag.

Anyhow, I'd like to build at least one more pink rod, but was looking for a better quality blank. I don't want a $200 Sage blank (while I agree with the fundraising) I'm just not that rich.

I know I could just take any blank and paint it, but I'm worried that it would be too thin. Any of you guys know where I might find a say 8-15# 7 to 7 1/2 feet long?

Thanks in advance

You can order Lamiglas in custom colors. It does take time - 4 to 6 weeks, usually. Call BobMc at Custom Tackle - sponsor on the left side.

The other choice is to purchase a white blank and tint some permagloss with red pigment, the result will be pink.

Hi Ted,

Sorry to here the pink blank you received was not acceptable. You're welcome to return it for a full refund. Mud Hole has sold a hundred tons of the eglass pink blank you purchased and most customers are very satisfied with them. Because of their popularity, we are expanding the pink line of blanks into several graphite models that are more light weight than the eglass blank you purchased while maintaining economical pricing (purple blanks also). Look for these additional pink and purple blanks to be on our web site in the up coming weeks.

Regards.

Thanks guys at Mudhole - I wasn't meaning to pay you any disrespect - I was behind the gun to get the rod ready for a particular trip so return at that time wasn't in the cards. I have several more of them in black that will be used for live bait tuna rigs this summer. The graphite ones would be slick - just what I'm looking for. Lots of options have opened up now so I have some choices to make - keep them coming guys and gals.

I just completed spraying a blank with a pearl pink custom mix.It will then be top coated with Permagloss.Cant wait to see this one in the sun if it ever comes out around here. The nice days we had the smoke from the South Jersey forest fire blocked it.
