Very common, somewhat novel but very little monetary value. Many of them were brought back to the U.S. by servicemen returning from service in the orient in the 50's and 60's.

With Tom's permission, I'll post a link to a guy in New York State that I referred to from this forum, who does nothing but restore antique can rods. Bear in mind that there are a lot of guys who do this on this forum that will also be able to answer your question with all the particulars, just as well, maybe.
