Very intriguing. Is there sufficient info still around, that perhaps this type handle might be ‘reverse-engineered’ ?

It would be difficult to do because it's a rather hard piece to manufacture and the demand isn't likely to be high enough to make it cost effective for anyone.

My apologies, I didn't mean to imply a commercial venture, just curious as to whether a similar configuration could be cobbled together in the garage. Never having laid eyes on one, I can't quite picture where the complexities lie.
Much obliged for the prompt reply, tho Steve Re: Vol 10 issue 1 Ultra–Light article re Fuji USH handle

Steve,
I have 8 or 10 of the Fuji LSH (not UHS) "Speed handles". Some of which I removed from rods and replaced with traditional graphite/cork handles. They are made of injection molded hypolon and plastic components and considerably heavier than graphite/cork reel seats. They did make a comfortable grip.
