Hi, I know it is necessary to wrap the female end prior to performing a static deflection test, but is it necessary to finish it with epoxy beforehand too, or does just the thread protect and support it enough? Also, is there a standard rule of thumb for how long the female ferrule wrap needs to be? And while I'm asking questions, is it necessary to plug the male end, and if so, with what?.......Thanks in advance,

Hi JIm,
No you do not have put finish on the female end . Rule of thumb is two and half times the diameter of the blank. I always like to plug the male end it keeps dirt and junk out of there . Hope this helps Marcel Re: ferrule wrap before static deflection test

Like Marcel said!!! Also, if you want, just use a little Rod Bond to plug the end. Keeps dirt/water out Mike (Southgate, MI) If I don't want to, I don't have to and nobody can make me (except my wife) cuz I'm RETIRED!! Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
