I posted recently about Gatti blanks and from the advice I received, decided not to build one.
Anyone ever done anything with Fly Logic Optimus Plus series blanks ? Looking for a 9' 5 wt for big water able to throw wooly boogers and big weighted stonefly nymphs (armored cars, as we call them) and still be able to toss out size 18 BWOs ( I know, Dan Craft blanks are great) - loooking for opinions on Fly-Logic Blanks As always, your thoughts count Paul Kolis Re: fly logic blanks

I've not used one but perhaps someone else here has. I do wonder why you're dancing all around blanks that are known to offer exception performance at extremely reasonable prices, and from companies who are actually in the blank making business.
Nothing against the Fly Logic products, but when you consider the offerings from Batson, Pacific Bay, American Tackle, Black Dog, Tiger Eye, CUI, St. Croix, Lamiglas, etc., etc., etc., you could surely find a blank that offers the level of performance you want at a price that you'd be willing to pay. ................ I'm with Tom, lots of blanks will do what you want. Getting one that will do it and keep the little 18 fly pinned in the big trout's mug is the rub. The stillwater fly blanks have a softer tip to protect light tippets and small chronomid patterns and still cast 60 ft from a float tube. I'd start looking there. Re: fly logic blanks

I've built Tiger-Eye, Batson, Pac-Bay, American Tackle, and Dan Craft.
Always looking to try something new. I suppose it's like a golfer in search of the elusive "perfect driver" or the bowler in search of the "perfect ball". While we can debate about the merits of a perfect rod, it's the quest to find one that makes rod-building such an enjoyable hobby. Re: fly logic blanks
