Does the 'B' mean anything? Re: Gator B10-30

Mr. Heaton,
What reel are you planning on using? I've chased the barramundi a lot. The rod you've asked about can cast fairly well if built up for it. Forget about the 'B' thing. Just concentrate on the fact that it's a 10-30 pound rod described as x-tra fast kingfish rod meaning it'll work well chasing spaniards as well as queenies, trevally, MJs, estuary cod, pretty decent sized jewfish (mulloway to Americans), etc. If built up for it that is. The rod should handle barras well up to about 15kilos without a problem on good conventional gear unless you hook the bugger two centimeters from a major snag. It should handle smaller black bass well also. The reel used is very important for those estuary monsters so reel model will help me to be more specific in a future reply. BTW, which area are you fishin'? Re: Gator B10-30

Mr. Heaton,
Well, the Gatorglass is a very tough rod. It's got heaps of butt power to move fish. I think to increase your versatility you may wish to switch to a baitrunner of something like that. Either that or a more robust reel, but for now that Daiwa should do so long as the drag is still smooth. My major worry is the fish getting into the snags. I would personally go with a nylon tough butt and either hypalon or cork foregrip. They look funny but very functional in SE Asian estuaries. Nearly indestructible. I would go with SiC stripper and tip guides with alconite guides in between. Due to the butt power of the gatorglass as well as he fish's power, I would suggest an underwrapper for the stripper guide (my suggestion is for double footed for the stripper and majority of the guides.) You won't need to double wrap the stripper guide but at least C thread. I figure you should be able to toss lures comfortably from about 10-50 grams. Also, definitely braided line. Hope this helps some. Say, know any good dealers of Halco that sell to the US? Looking for the 20 gram streakers. Thanks mate. Cheers. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
