The RX8 blanks are considerably livelier than the RX7 blanks. Faster actioned? I don't know, faster recovery, yes. Re: rainshadow excel blanks help!

I built a Rainshadow RX-7 \ 7'9" 3 wt.
Compared to a Loomis IMX or St. Croix Legend Ultra or a Sage XP - the RX-7 could be considered pedestrian. However: I find it to be very efficient for its purpose - tossing tricos, midges and small ants to wary browns on smaller strams with gin clear water in the Summer when you need to make your presentation count. Using 7x tippet, the softer action is more forgiving than a hand cannon such as the rods mentioned above. I know......I built this rod specifically for the purpose mentionoed. I don't break off anywhere near as often as I did with a fast action rod. Paul Kolis Re: rainshadow excel blanks help!
