For others it has lately been all St. Croixs - SC4's, SC 5's and a bunch of their ice rods last winter. That said, on deck currently are Batsons, Shikari, Loomis', and more St. Croixs. And I couldn't resist the clearance sales of the Batsons and I have about 15 blanks waiting for the opportunity for me to make a rod or two for me! I hope they are as nice as everyone else seems to feel they are. Chuck Ungs Re: What do you build YOUR rods on-favorite blank maker

GUSA has always been a favorite, especially in th green color. For offshore grouper fishing I like a T80XH Gator Glass meat stick. Something cheap and I don't care if someone steps on it. But for inshore nothing seems to beat the GUSA (Hastings) Re: What do you build YOUR rods on-favorite blank maker

I am a HUGE fan of St. Croix but with that said. I have built many of the All Stars that I got from Andy and the Batson's are certainly a VERY nice blank for the price (thanks to Robert at Fish Sticks for all of the great help). I have only gotten one CTS so far and was VERY impressed (much like the SCV's- can't wait to see the bass line) but a friend decided he needed it more that I did so it now resides in his boat.

I build mostly fly rods...I like all the Batson products I have used and also love the Sevier Tiger eye blanks. There are so many good blanks out there it is hard to limit it though. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
