recoil guide spiral wrap

I want to build a spiral wrap carolina rig rod using recoil guides has anybody done this? Is it ok too do this? Re: recoil guide spiral wrap

Sure, why not. A guide is a guide, as far as the line is concerned.

Just do it. I think you will really like em after you are done. The guides are very light. The next time I build myself a casting rod that is what I will use and they will be spiral wrapped. Re: recoil guide spiral wrap

Has anybody used their fly guides for the bumper guide yet? Does the line react badly to the base of the guide? It is not a true ring, but a semi ring and appears that the line may not flow smoothly by the contact area. How about those fly guides on spinning and spiral casting rods. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
