Is there a shelf life for tru oil once it has been opened. What are the signs that the tru oil would not give optimal results.

Once it gets thick or gummy, get a fresh bottle. I can normally get a year or more out of it. If you use a lot, you'll be empty before it goes bad.

I just used a bottle that is a year or more old and it worked fine. I actually had to break thru a top layer that had hardend, but underneath was like new. The grip I turned looks awesome!

On a bottle of True Oil do not remove the foil cap. Puncture the foil with a pin and shake out drops. Seal quickly, tight and store upside down to prevent air entry and the bottle will last longer without gumming out on the surface.

I read it on here BEFORE I even bought a bottle of the stuff and ran into the problem on my own. Gotta love that!! Putter Williston, ND Re: tru oil shelf life

Here is a post I made on True Oil in 04. Reason for this reminder to all is that he original idea came from Jesse! I really owe the guy a lot for what he has taught me involving the craft. He still is in the ICU toughing it out.
