I see giude wrapes that change color as they exit the foot and end on the rod. These color changes are usally really small bands. How do you get such small bands and still be able to tie it off?
Thanks for the help!! Re: Tying off small bands?

The Volume 6 #1 issue of RodMaker also has step by step photos of how to do the 2 and 3 thread width trim bands and single thread inlays.

I do it like it describes in RM 6-1, except instead of making the loops on my finger tip, I make them right on the blank on top of my pull loop. For me it's just as fast and after much trying, I never could get the loops to slide of my finger tip without getting all crossed up. A flex coat stirring stick, tapered sharp at one end is a good tool for that too. Re: Tying off small bands?

If you are only making a two wrap band it is just a simple "clove hitch knot" that Boy Scouts and Sailers were taught to tie. Google can find the directions for you. Stan Grace Helena, MT "Our best is none too good" Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
