Ok guys I got my Turmaster pro in the mail today and I was ready to put her together but I don't know what pully to put the belt on.
What rpm's should I turn for turning rod handles? Thanks for your help!! "The early bird gets the worm,.. but the second mouse gets the cheese!" Re: What Pully?

Something around 1500 is a good place to start - I assume we're talking cork and EVA.
Now as far as which pulley step that would be, I don't have one of those type lathes here so hopefully somebody with a Jet or Delta or one just like your's will chime in and let you know. ................ Re: What Pully?

If it's like the Jet, there are actually two sheaves, one attached to the motor and one attached to the headstock. Inside one of those doors should be a chart that shows which groove produces which speed. Re: What Pully?

Yes it does have a chart and I can find out that way.
Ok 1500 for cork or EVA.....What about wood? Thanks for the help guys!! "The early bird gets the worm,.. but the second mouse gets the cheese!" Re: What Pully?

The speed for wood depends on the size and hardness of the piece being turned. Generally, you want to go faster for softer and/or smaller pieces and slower for harder and/or larger pieces.
At some point, you may benefit from a good wood turning DVD or book, or Andy Dear's DVD on turning reel seat inserts. ................... Re: What Pully?

By all means, get Andy's DVD. It will show you everything you need to know about shaping cork and making reel seat inserts. It was the best investment I made after the lathe. Re: What Pully?
