Does anyone use epoxy over a coat of varnish? I'm experimenting for my first rod and I've noticed nice results with the varnish first coat...it doesn't get so dark. Re: Coating wraps...

No reason that it wouldn't work fine. Use of CP will keep the thread pretty much the same as it is on the spool! Re: Coating wraps...

Yeah, I know about CP. I'm just thinking the varnish is a good compromise between straight epoxy and the CP. Thanks, Mike. Re: Coating wraps...

You should try Klass Kote epoxy paint, a former sponsor. Goes on like varnish, hard like epoxy. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
