Kokanee blanks for other uses?

Have been pondering purchasing a kokanee blank and wrapping it for an all round ultralight blank in saltwater, smaller stuff like spanish mackeral or what not. Having never seen one, they sound like a lot of fun, but I could be barking up the wrong tree.
Was wondering if anyone here who may have experience with these blanks has considered wrapping/wrapped one for other uses? Are they all soft or soft tipped with some backbone? Noticed Lamiglas is coming out with a new model for 2006: GC 792 UL Phil Re: Kokanee blanks for other uses?

In my experience, kokanee blanks should be a moderate action, a fast or moderate fast isn't near gentle enough on the kokes soft mouth. Don't know how tough the spanish mackerl is, a moderate action may not be heavy enough for them. Just IMHO.

I'd take a look at the Cascade Composite light poppng rod blank, the IP841 at Mudhole. Very light tip with all the backbone you'll need for a Spanish. Rainshadow still makes them, but the specs show a larger diameter tip on the blank now. The ones I've used had a 3.5 tip, now they show a 4.5 tip. They is also an UL popping (saltwater) rod blank I haven't tried, the IP840. Re: Kokanee blanks for other uses?

Thanks for the info! For the $$, that 841 is definitely worth checking out. I'm more curious if anyone's made anything else on the kokanee blanks besides kokanee rods than anything though. I've got a few rods to finish wrapping that'll work great on Spanish. Then again, with me going back to Japan in January for three years, they'll be working on Japanese spanish mackeral, Seabass, and ribbonfish.
Just listening to the action of them reminds me of my favorite casting rod for stripers: a 10 weight fly rod blank wrapped as a baitcaster. Just wondered if they would be as fun for lighter fish, just not sure what for.... :) Someone's had to have used them for something besides kokanee.
