Hello everyone and as always thanks for your help. I am getting ready to install a Tuff Butt. I have an All Star IFS766-M blank. The Tuff Butt has an ID of about 1" and the blank is about .5 OD. What is the best way to build up the difference. I was thinking of installing an EVA grip To the blank and then turning it down to the proper diameter to accept the Butt, Gimble and the reel seat, using rod bond to epoxy it all together. Is this a good idea? what have ya'll done? Thanks Scott Re: Installing a Tuff Butt help

American Tackle actually makes a combination EVA/TuffButt that has a perfectly sized EVA undergrip that the TuffButt mounts on top of. Could be worth looking into.
Most of the Tuff or Slick Butts I've installed over the years were mounted on the brick foam arbors from Pacific Bay. They come in sizes all the way up to 32mm, which covers about any TuffButt on the market. You could also wind fiberglass drywall tape busings and mount the butt on those. .............. I use a couple of hundred of Stuart's Tuff Butts a year and put 6 inches of the blank into the butt using 3 or 4 masking tape bushings and plenty of Kardol Glue. Any more than six inches of the blank is just adding extra weight. Jesse Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
