I want to build a 1 wgt, fast to med fast rod. Searched all the usual suspect sites and Googled, but can't come up with a blank. Any references ?
Thanks for your help Tony Re: 1 wgt blanks ?

Dan Craft has 1 weights and even 0 weights. As to the fast part, you would have to ask Dan. "Fast" is even more relative with a 1 weight rod, as you certainly are not going to put a lot of force into the cast. Oiled silk speeds things up considerably. Re: 1 wgt blanks ?

Tony--I'd probably lean towards Dan's 7' 1wt 2pc Signature III stick. It is a true fast-action in terms of action angle (Common Cents System), thought Don's caution on this is appropriate. Dan's 6'10" 1wt 3pc is slightly less tip-action but incredibly smooth and maybe the better choice if you're after more of a 0/1wt. He also has a very limited number of 0wt and 1wt options in his custom Signature IV line, but honestly the two Sig III blanks are so nice you don't need to go any further, IMO! :)
Hope you "find what you're looking for"! Re: 1 wgt blanks ?

CTS also has 1 wt's, a little more pricey than Dan's blanks though. Re: 1 wgt blanks ?

The 8'0" 2wt Sig III also fishes nicely at medium distance with a 1 weight line. Scott Kinney The Longest Cast Fly Rods [www.thelongestcast.com] Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
