I would appreciate some assistance from you guys:
I have been asked to test and review fly rods by a friend who runs a fly-fishing shop. This will not be some kind of rocket science as I am not at all into the technicalities of rods/blanks, I have just been fly fishing for a long time and he asks my judgment. Of course I could make it easy to myself by just describing fast action, quick loading, etc. but what I would like to do is, apart from casting and fishing with it, is to measure the action/flex and strength (test curve?) Could someone mention good (known) methods to do so? Adrian Re: judging/describing rod action

The Common Cents System will do exactly what you want to do, and put the action figure into a matter of degrees so you can make actual and verifiable relative comparisons. You can also measure the intrinsic power of any rod and put a relative number on that as well. This will make your observations objective, instead of subjective.
No way I could explain the system here, you really need the Common Cents System instructions. Please email me. ............. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
