tom i used the contact cement to glue my hypalon rings together not to glue the rings to the blank.

Okay, that's fine. Now we're on the same page.
But the reason your grip stopped and curled under, is because you didn't put enough epoxy high on the blank so that it would get inside the grip and lube the interior surface. The grip tends to act as a squeegee - wiping the blank clean as it moves down it. You end up with dry surface against dry surface and well... you found out what happens. If you'll drop the grip on the blank and mark where it stops due to gravity - then put the bulk of your epoxy above that point, you'll be fine. Bring the grip down over the epoxy and twist and spin it so that the inside is completely coated with epoxy. Now trail a little epoxy on down the blank to the point where you want the grip to reside. This won't require much, just use your application tool or stock to smear a few thin trails down the blank. Now you're ready to move the grip into position. ................... Re: to tom kirkman
