White over black wrap

Dear friends,

I've a CTS white trolling blank and I'd like to wrap black Aftto roller guides on it.

I've seen some interesting ideas during my visits to the photo section and I'd like to make a white underwrap with black trims and a white overwrap with black details, too.

I've made some previous test using Gudebrod white and black threads, both in regular nylon. The problem is that I can see black ends through the white thread, even before coating. Take a look to this picture [www.fishright.com] to see what I mean.

Could the use of NCP nylon solve this problem?

For your refference, I've included a couple of these pictures I liked. [www.fishright.com] and [www.fishright.com] How is it done?.

Thank you for your help,

Daniel

NCP thread with a maybe white paint under it. Pack tightly use CP.
Try it first on the butt section of the blank

This thread reminded me of the most uguly rod that I ever made out of the thousands I've done over the years. I was requested to make the ugulist wireline trolling rod that I could come up with for this customer and here is what I gave him. Cork Grips, chrome reel seat, white Finor nylon trolling guides, chrome roller tip. White blank and white thread wraps, no other colors, just white, even did a white on white diamond wrap. This was the late 70's so my finish of choice was Invirotext which did not turn amber in the sun, it turned brown in less than a month. This was so bad he had me strip and rewrap it in about 6 months. Jesse

Daniel, Black and red w gold metalic trim bands look nice. Or for ideas just look at pro and college uniforms and pick the colors that you like. Good luck! Ed
