guide sizing, ceramic guides

Because mr Kirkman himself has convinced me that ceramic guides is THE thing I`ll put them on my Loop yellow-line project too. It`s a 9`7" 6/7 weigt to be used for light salmon and sea trout fishing. I`ve played with some numbers and come up with this sizing chart:

16-12(the two strippers)-10-8-8-8-7-7-7(fuji single foot ceramic running guides, light)

Does anyone have an opinion whether this is ok or not?

Thanks!

Harald

Harald--your sizing is fine, though you don't need to taper the guides that gradually. You could go 16-12-10-8-8-7-7-7-7 or even 16-12-8-8-7's. I'd probably do the latter. Just out of curiosity, though, is the number of guides you've chosen based on a static guide placement test or ?? I'd guess you MIGHT need one more--certainly if the 12 is used as a taming guide and not a double-foot running guide.

Thanks for the thumbs up, John!

You`re right about the guides. The 12 is a taming guide. I forgot the last stripper. I might even put on another stripper since it`s a 9`7" for a total of 9 running guides. The original guide number is ten though.
