evenin . i'm having a problem matching thread color to a green blank. is there anything i can put on a test wrap to simulate the color the thread will turn without color preserver? thanks much r flynn Re: thread color

Use alcohol to wet the thread for a close approximation of what color will look with straight finish.

If you are talking about the green that was manufactured by Baston or Cascade Composites the Dark Green without color preserver matches pretty well, it will be a bit darker then the blank. If you want an nice look use the Metalic Green HT from Guidebrod.
Go to Yahoo look under the Dallasflyfisher profile in the photo section you will see a rod I did that is a green blank and the butt wrap was done in Metallic Green/Sunrise/Black. This has color preserver on it but the metalic green is almost a dead match and adds a nice touch to it. [pg.photos.yahoo.com] Re: thread color

i've used gudebrod's Medium Green and without CP, it came pretty close to matching a pacbay rainforest blank.
