Anyone who know where to buy Ironfeather blanks....?

-Particular the light spin 8´ (2-12 gram) and the 9´6" #6 and 12´6" #8/9 fly rods.

The 9´6" #6 is for an light spinning rod for the coast, does it sound reasonable to you???

Hi Bjarke,
like I told you "back home" blanks for the Ironfeather rods are not available and I dont even think the Ironfeather rods are available in the US. The Techna AV is also no longer available as blanks - the ones you bought are the rest of what is left.

Hi again Bjarke,
as far as I know the Ironfeather fly rods left the US market many years ago not leaving behind the best impression - it can be a difficult rod to handle. I belive they are not available in the US and therefore no one can ad an opinion about them.
Someone once described the Ironfeather as a old sportscar and modern fast action fly rods as a moders sportscar - the Ironfeather is brutal and fast whereas the moders fly rods do the same but with finesse and ease.

Enough about that - I have had some correspondance with the good people at Purefishing DK about blanks or no blanks. They tried with the Techna AV which wasnt a success - I believe they will experience the same if they released the Ironfeather blanks - Fenwick just isnt that big a name anymore.

If you want Ironfeather blanks to build on I suggest you put a wanted add on sportsfiskerens webpage - the finished rods were sold around the 1.000 kr. mark and a second hand rod would be around 6-700 kr. - then strip the rods and rebuild.

Peter

Weird, I have just started fishing again, and have therefore been a little around the shops, and the only rod that I really fell for was the Ironfeather 8´ 2-12 gram lure wt., and the fly rod feel better than the rest as well (not much experience in that).

It is true that the longer versions (of spin) tend to be a little more than a little too stiff, I haven´t tried the 9´ (6-24g) but the 10´ (8-32g) if way too stiff unless you throw these 20-25 g, but I have liked the fly rods I have tried.
