What's the ideal amount of time to wait before applying the second coat of finish? (on a butt wrap)
In this case, I'm using Flexcoat Lite. I applied the first coat this morning. Could a second be applied tonite (12 hrs later), or is it best to wait a full 24 hours. (I'm not under a deadline). Re: how much time between coats of finish

If you didn't throw away your epoxy after applying to the wraps, go touch it. If it's tack free, apply your second coat. I'd guess that if your room temperature is 68-72, you should be good after 12 hours. Given adequate temperatures I have no problem re-applying LS after 6 hours (sometimes much less).

i find my flex coat lite finish can still be tacky after 12 hours. usually, it appears to be non-tacky by the 18 hour mark. my wardrobe, well, that tackiness persists regardless.

Thanks, boys.
I dug the piece of foil that I poured the mixed finish onto out of the garbage pail. After almost 12 hours, it is still slightly tacky to the touch. I'll wait until tomorrow evening after work to apply the next coat. Re: how much time between coats of finish

When done leave the foil under the rod and check it once in a while. Beats sticking your finger in the wrap. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
