Rod Building or Fly Fishing Book My Wife Will Leave on the Coffee Table?

Off topic, but I imagine there are a bunch of us whose wives do a great job of decorating the house. In fact, I never go in one that I think is done better than the way my wife has done ours - comfortable and aesthetic. However, everything looks so good - including the Southern Livingish books scattered all over the place - that my wife won't leave any of my Lefty Kreh, Tom Kirkman, etc. lying where I left it! It just doesn't live up to the rest of the decor. So can someone produce an over-the-top, color coordinated, panoramic cover layout that will keep the book lying where I left it? Maybe Mark Janek... Get the book you want her to leave and put one of the covers on it that she likes!! It is the cover that makes her take it away This way unless she opens it, she will not know Re: Rod Building or Fly Fishing Book My Wife Will Leave on the Coffee Table?

There will be a coffee table book on rod building out later this year. It will be leather bound and quite attractive. I think your wife might find it acceptable to be left out on her furniture. More details as we get closer to the actual publication date.

Leather bound book - now that sounds interesting. Tom and others who have written books, don't be offended by my dilemma - ya'll just have no idea the degree of style and eye for detail I'm up against. Re: Rod Building or Fly Fishing Book My Wife Will Leave on the Coffee Table?

If I leave mine out, they end up in the bathroom magazine rack, instead of my office Regards......Doug@ TCRds Re: Rod Building or Fly Fishing Book My Wife Will Leave on the Coffee Table?

Yep! Heck even read a post yesterday suggesting applying finish in there to cut down on air borne dust.

I applied glass coat on a rod last night, and just sprayed water from an empty Febreze bottle. Has a nice fine spray. Guides came out no dust Re: Rod Building or Fly Fishing Book My Wife Will Leave on the Coffee Table?

Advanced Custom Rod Building by Dale Clemens should be in every rodmaker's library. I find the bookcover to be very pleasing to the eye. If it does not your wife's standards just temove the cover and you'll reveal a classy black cover which will fit with any decor. A coverless copy of Clemens' Thread Art (in excellent condition) will also look very nice. I also like Bill's suggestion to recover the books to please her sense of taste. Of course when this issue arose in my marriage I simply ushered the dominating decorator out the door; permanently! Re: Rod Building or Fly Fishing Book My Wife Will Leave on the Coffee Table?

Though I generally do not leave rod building literature laying about the living room, should I ever do so my wife will not touch it and will leave it there for me to pick up - she calls it my "junk" - and it's for me to pick up. It'll sit there and gather dust until I move it. While a rod building (Clemens) book may prove interesting to a rod builder, it attracts little attention otherwise - a guarantee that the book will just sit there. All of my books are near my work bench....

The new book is something I think most will pick up, rod builder or not. In fact, it is the rod builders that I think will have the least interest in it. We'll see.
