Would appreciate some advice regarding the size of guides to be used on a 9 foot 6 four piece TCR using Fuji silicone carbide single foot guides.
Thanks and regards to all

What weight is your TCR blank. Need to know this to recommend proper size guides.

I/we need more details. Freshwater? Saltwater? Will you use shooting heads. The size of the guides depend on usage. If freshwater and normal backing-flyline-leader usage, then #12 stripper, 10, 8, then 6's to the tip. If saltwater or if you use shooting heads for distance, the guides & tip need to be larger to allow knots/loops to pass easily, then perhaps, #12 stripper, 10, 8, and 7's to the over-sized tip. or maybe, #12 stripper, 10, then 7's to the oversized tip. Maybe a linetamer guide #10 100mm./4in. in front of the stripper guide. I assume you meant 9ft. 6wt. 4pc. If so, this should be in the ballpark, at least. Merry Christmas. Ralph

If at first you don't succeed, go fishing, then try, try again.

Ralph,

Thanks for the info, the TCR is a 9 foot 6 inch 6 weight and will be used for freshwater, no shooting heads just standard flyline and backing.

Thanks for your assistance

Cheers

Ralph,

Shooting heads? I'm guessing this is a fly fishing term? Around here it means your popping gophers. Can you explain for me?

Owen,
Pretty much what Ralph said for a freshwater rod, except you might want to use a #12 SVSG double foot for a stripper, followed by a #10 NSG double foot, then dropping to #6 SG single-foot guides on out.
