I am looking for a blank that will throw 1/2oz to 3oz at the outer extremes (3 would be a lob, 1/2 a hard cast). Anybody got experience with the Lami GLB1022ML? I has to be two piece for transport purposes. Re: 8 1/2 foot Light Surf / Jetty Rod

Martin - I haven't tried that blank but I've made one up on this blank which is available from MudHole to the left: model maker length/pcs Line wt CSB102-2L Lamiglas Tri-Flex Surf - 8'6 2pc. 10-17WT butt diameter Tip lure wt blank wt price / Mudhole .670B 10T 1/2-2 1/4 oz 4 1/2 oz $108.00 It likely will not do the 3oz that you're looking for - more like 2 to 2.5 oz . I searched high and low for a rod to do 1/2 to 3 and never found it. I did get pretty close. I bought a Lamiglas TS9 MH spinning rod. I believe this is made on the CSB 108 2M blank but would check with Lamiglas to be sure. This rod will throw 2 or 3 ounces of metal to the moon. It does not throw 1/2 ounce but I've done very well with 3/4 oz especially if its not a (physically) large plug. A stingsilver or bucktail goes OK. I think if you used 10# braided line, you might be able to go as low as 1/2 oz. All my casting has been with 14 and 17# braid, and 12 and 15# mono. I have had great luck with the new Stren super braid and have converted from mono on every reel I have. If you haven't tried this braid, give it a try. Its amazing and will outcast mono by a considerable distance.(I've tried 4 or 5 brands of braid and only like this one. my opinion.) Re: 8 1/2 foot Light Surf / Jetty Rod

If you think 2pce was a rare thing, try 3 piece!! Re: 8 1/2 foot Light Surf / Jetty Rod

If you are OK with fiberglass, the Lamiglass MB1083M2 is nice for that weight range. It's a 9' 2-piece rod. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
