White decal paper !

I have used the clear decal paper for a few rod projects, now I need to try a white decal paper for logos, letters ,etc. with a lot of white in them on my custom rods. Inkjets do not print in white and I thought this would be an ideal solution. Has any one tried this before? Were the results satisfactory? What brand and where did you purchase it?

Thank you again for your help.

Tom

Decal Connection over on that list of sponsors to the left of this message. They have clear and white waterslide decals. I have a sheet of both on hand and hope to experiment with my first decals when I do my next build. Jay

I made my own decals using the white decal paper from Decal Connection using an HP 810C Desk Jet printer. While the initial results are good, the ink fades, even indoors. My understanding is that there are currently no coating products that can filter out UV rays to keep the ink from fading.

Does anyone have any real experience with Epson's Dura Brite inkjets? This ink is 'supposed' to be fade resistant for a number of years. I use an Epson C82 printer with Dura Brite ink, but have not tested its fade resistance in the sun. Jay

Dura bright seems like it is the up and coming thing but to new to back the claims at this time.. Time will tell about the fade proof of the colors. Some colors are prone to fading no matter what because of the amount of pigment in them.
It would be great if they do what they say for all of us.
