i'm stuck on this one !!!!! i'm going to install a tuff butt on a rod what should i use for bushings? if i glued an eva grip & then turned it down to fit would that work ok? what should i use for a reel seat & butt cap? there is a removable ring on the tuff butt should the reel seat fit down inside it? if so should it fit snuggly i assume the reel seat should be uplocking. if i install it that way a 22mm reel seat would probably fit . the butt dia. of the rod is .600 many thanks r flynn Re: tuff butt install

Ron, The EVA underpinning is something I have not done but it should work. In fact, AMTAK makes special EVA grips just for this purpose - they are sized and shaped to fit their tuff-butts. Otherwise you might consider the Pac Bay brick foam arbors which come in sizes up to 32mm. Cork rings glued up and turned to fit would also work well. ............................
