Hi everbody,
I´ve been sitting over a blank for european carp fishing. This blank is a litte bit ripped in at the spiggot ferrule of the tip section. I´ve like to cut the tip section a bit to remove this little crack. Which kind of saw blade should i use for this job? Or is it possible to leave this crack an wind over with a little more thread tension to keep it from a burst out?
I guess not, but any other opinions?

Just a thought and this is what I have done to butt section on several rods to shorten them a bit or even up the end of the blank.

Using a high speed belt sander or any sander that is mounted on a bench, just gently touch the blank to the sanding disc or belt and it will take off the damaged area. BE CAREFULL, the sanding disc will take the blank down like butter.

Safe than cutting and no presure on any other part of the blank.

When I need to cut a blank I use a dremel tool with a cut of disk. It cuts clean and there is no pressure put on the blank.

Wrap the area to be cut with masking tape, then mark where to cut, then use dremel with cut off disk.

In the absence of these power tools use a three corner fine cut file and work around the blank.

Diddo on the Dremal tool. I used to use my arrow cut off saw but the dremal tool is much handier.
