I've built and used many of them over the years. They have a much stronger following in Canada than here in the US. Made in Woodland, WA not far from the G Loomis and Lamiglas. Angler's Workshop has a long history with the company. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 02/07/2007 03:00PM by Spencer Phipps. Re: Talon rods

I have a float rod built on a 13' ITM blank. It's the lightest 13' blank I've ever felt. I'm going to look in to some of their other blanks. Re: Talon rods

Talon is latest incarnation of Loomis Composites, Inc., which formed back in the late 1970's. Shortly thereafter they reorganized as LCI, then Osprey and then in the 1990's as Talon. They have an extensive product line and do a good deal of work for OEM companies. Although they're not very active in the custom rod building market, they do sell blanks through a variety of rod building component supply dealers. They have many satisfied customers.

Spencer,
I think Talon rods and blanks are now the most known in Russia, no tricks. We have a very active Talon dealer here and much larger choice of rods and blanks (but blanks are mostly available on a special order basis) than I ever saw somewhere on American or Canadian sites, even on Talon's webpage itself :-) Pavel, Moscow, RU Re: Talon rods

Here's an email response i got from Talon when I asked about some long float blanks and how to get them:
We do offer a 15' and a 17' blank. These are 3 piece. Our web site only lists our most popular actions and since we build to order and offer over 600 models we limit what we list. Yes you may buy direct and we do offer wholesale pricing with the proper documentation (usually copy of business license - need to make Uncle Sam happy). Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
