I have noticed on a few pictures of Shimano rods (pictures in local publications in Texas of 7\' cork handled casting rods)have a metal butt cap that appears to have a titanium finish. They are not the standard anodized aluminum but have a flare at the end. Any idea where I could find these or have some made? Re: Special Butt Cap

Hio, Ron.....Butt boxes are a nice touch to any project..... there is a niche market up this way for these things...... they are like timepieces.... why tell it with a Timex, when a bling Seiko does it too. Up-scale butt boxes are especially popular on pin rods.
As soon as I locate his URL, I will send you a note. Unsure if Andy Snedden (sponsor on the left) carries his stuff, so I'll go off-board to you first, then ask Andy if he's got them, by name. Best, KD Re: Special Butt Cap

I just had four of the Shimanos come in for repairs that have these butt caps. They have the text of Hand Crafted in Washington State in a circle around the circumference. They really are nice. These are about five years old and show absolutely no wear. I would like to get my hands on some too. Re: Special Butt Cap

The Shimano V-rods were built at the G Loomis plant. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
