I have checked with Cabella, Bass Pro Shop, Big 5 and Sportsman Auth. No luck so far. If they get a broken rod, they ship it back for store credit.

I am working on a project, I am building a spinning reel support to throw 2-3 oz weights by sling shot and guide the fishing line on the line of the drive. It works well but the reel comes loose of the home made mounts. What I am looking for is an aluminum reel seat from a rod that is broken or damaged. I know that accidents happen and people would throw parts away instead of fixing, and removin

Wow...Where can I see the new TKWSG? Are they the same like the TSVSG rings in shape? Those are the only ones I like since I will use them on a spinning rod/reel.

My mistake. The color is not red but red wine like, and is in the finish not of the blank itself. I know I have seen some pictures of it recently when I was looking for my blank but I can not remember.

My friend, after seeing me building the rod, want to build a rod also, but he is looking for: - 7' length, medium action - lake fishing, spinning reel type - composite made - and most important, the blank has to be red in color (not painted, but the color impregnated in the trexture) - moderately priced Since I don't know all the blank types, I am asking for help from the pros. Thank you.

I thought about Fuji Ti spin rings but the problem is, they ONLY go to 30 size ring and I need a 40 size for my reel. Also I don't like the fact that Fuji is coating their Ti rings...Is like buying a Ferrari and driving it with a dust cover on it.

(my eyes are red from so much searching) Jim, I have found a web dealer (will not post the name here) that sells Daiwa Saltiga Blast for 399.99 with free shipping and a spool of Power Pro Braid (any test). If I substract the shipping and the line, the price of the reel would be 75-80% of the retail.

I will pass this offer but I will call Zee Bass and let them know. I wonder if this is the same case as it was a few months ago with a trading Co. in the same region that was selling audio-video equipment for very cheap...all the items being sold were the fruits of piracy actions.

Didn't know the Saltiga Blast Saltwater series was discontinued....I may be able to find one for $399.99. Was it a good reel? strong, reliable, good for salt water? Is it worth to buy it? Also, is SS ring frame going to rust easy in saltwater...did not know that.

Looking for a future rod to build, and by reading I have found this ad from Mud Hole: Are those rings better than Fuji Ti SiC rings? The ad seems like. I was considering getting Fuji SVLG but from reading some posts here, the rings may rust in salt water. The rod will be universal built from American Tackle SW1088 8'6" blank for lake, surf, pier, jetty. I will put an aluminum reel seat an

I can take macro pictures of the rods that "look like" the thread is painted and send them to who wants them. Will get type A thread and start the job. Just thought of another question, so another thread will be posted.

I am ready to start wrapping the guides on my first rod and I have glued the guides to the rod. I want jet black thread and here is the dillema: I have seen rods (in the store) that on top of the finish (layered in) is paint, you can not see the threads. I would like to wrap the guides, put a layer of glue, pain the wrap and put a layer of finish on top. - what is the best thread for this job (

I have three sets of front and butt hypalon black grips (6 pieces). The front are 10" and the butt are 12" long with 11/16" ID. All were bought from a few local location over time ,and ALL six are different density (hardness/firmness). I am ticked off at the fact that I can not pair one set (two pieces) together on the same rod. This time I am ready to order two more sets (four p

One more question please regarding the SW1088 blank: The butt grip will be either 12" or 14" Hypalon 11/16" ID foam and for the foregrip I will be useing a 10" Hypalon foam but which size? 1/2" or 11/16" ID?. I will be geting them from Mud Hole.

For what is worth, use an aluminum reel seat from Pac Bay or American Tackle. I have broke 4 graphite reel seats (the nut that screws in to hold the reel) and once that is done the rod goes in the garbage. I did it by fishing off the piers and the fish was heavy enough to bring it up by the rod, so I pointed the rod towards the water lifting the fish in the line only...too much load and the reel

Wow, what a firestorm I started.... Again, my Seeker rod or Seeker Co has nothing to do with this. I took the left over piece from the garbage (is anybody offended that I trew that piece in the garbage?) and tried to duplicated an ad off the net and see if is true or not. But, if you send me your rods, for the right price I will test them under the truck. The testing price starts ar $199.99 and

A bit more info: The truck is a Dodge Ram 2500 Hemi with a camper shell on it and loaded with 200lb stuff in the back. I placed the 6-7" section of the butt under the front left tire and rolled slow over it. I felt the hump and WHEN I opened the door (rocking the truck) the rod crushed in two piceces. A lighter car would heve been OK I guess. If anybody wants the pictures, send me your e

What do you mean not to run a truck over the rod??? Am I fishing the wrong way? I am not putting Seeker down, just happened to have 6-7" off the butt and I tried to duplicate the ad.

Looking for best graphite rod, I have seen the ad with the Graphite USA rod under the truck and holding!. I have a 6" butt piece from the Seeker CJB90F rod and have tried the same thing...the Seeker rod did not hold the truck, it crushed like a soda can. I can post pictures if interested.
