1561. Re: Reel Seat foot size
Hello Everyone.
Terry, almost all my rods are salt and most small reels (most freshies might think 113H is big but you should try a 9/0 or 12/0) use a standard foot size but for the bigger reels there are bigger foot sized seats (usualy aluminum) where the foot slot is wider and a little taller to fit the bigger reels.
Not all aluminum have the wide feet just like only a few of the graphite

Hello All
Steve those are the same guides you had at the NC gathering at Tom's place, or were they something else?
Either way the ones you had at Tom's were nice looking.
By the way the doctors canceled my heart surgery till after Feb so I guess I have to bring a walker to the ICRBE for those long standing times.
See you there.

1565. Re: Old Drum Rod
Hello All
Thomas, I like the rod and the slick butt, but would go with (different) an EVA foregrip inlayed with something, and if you are not ready to do that kid of thing on your own yet Billy V will have something you will like or maybe do a custom for you, like a Drum.
Show us some pictures when you get them done!

1566. Re: Blank Registration
Hello All
If you put it in their name and your address and the company knows it (and maybe if they don't) they will run the NAME through the computer (google) and it spits out the guy's real address.
Just a thought.
Have a good day.

Hello Herman
Do you have Jim Upton's book " A Guide To Thread Weaving"?
I make my own LL by copying the image I want (if it is copyrighted you need permision to use the image) to graph paper, in Jims book he tells you about how many threads per MM for the different size threads so you will know how many squares per MM to use.
Once you have gotten the image on the graph paper with

I'll be there but I will probably check out the Mex joint that Mr Steve Gardner was speaking of, but just in case, what kind of ribs (beef or pork)?

Hello All
I think they make the wraps stand out a bit.
For a slightly subdued look I like to use Grey colors like a #1011 Gudebrod Gunmetal as an under wrap with a #441 Gudebrod Charcoal over, and if I feel the need for sparkle I add a 10 turn trim of metalic Gold or Silver.
Just use what looks good to you or ask your customer what colors they like.

Hi Greg
Have you tried REC guides(nickel titanium), Mud Hole on pg 95, I have used these guide on a few rods and have had no trouble with them.
Jann's has the plated SS on pg 80.
I'm sure others carry them as well.
Good Luck and Good Fishing.

1583. Re: Surf rod handle
Hello Bob
I like wood handles on surf rods about 18-24" long with carvings or lathe work.
They are heaver than the others but I like them for surf and sometimes I use shorter ones on trolling rods.

Hello Lorenzo
You could try to add some marbling pigment to some epoxy to make it the color you want and just put a layer of the pigmented epoxy over it. (never tried it but it might work you can try it on a scrap).
Let us know what you end up doing and how well it works.
Thanks
