i have fished on some of the fly blanks and they were fantastic. i have always heard great things about all the blanks. the only negative was getting them in a timely fashion.

if you get it hydro printed pick a pattern that will show on a small diameter blank. some of the leaf or simliar patterns just will not show on a small diameter blank. i would go with just a color pattern. i think it would have a better effect

as long as it accomodates any leader knots then go as small as possible. it sounds like you have the best setup for what you are doing with that rod. go with it

one thing to consider is the type of cord. there are two primary types1-polypro cord which is a smaller diameter paracord and 2- solid braid/rope which does not have a core. i have worked with both and both work great. i like some of the primary colors in the braid slightly better and the braid is limper. both are made by atwood

I like the tube and like Tom said i think it will be better due to the weight difference. I can't speak for long days fishing yet, but the handles are comfortable. They are easy and fun to make. I dressed them up with turk's head knots and really like the look. The possible color combinations are endless. I coated mine with permagloss and it really locks the cord making it virtually indestruct

I want to thank Tom for putting on another great show. It was great seeing many old friends and meeting many new ones. I was glad to hear positive things from everyone about the new location as I live in the area and work in Winston-Salem. I hope everyone had or has safe travels and look forward to next year. The reception was great. Good food, lots of stuff given away, lots of new faces and plenty of old ones too, and nice facility. I hope everyone had or has safe travels. I had some requests about some corded handles. Stop by the Sticks 'N Bones booth and I will be doing some demonstrations on the corded handles today and tomorrow. If you don't see something you know I make just ask. I didn't

I have been asked about parking. The decks downtown charge $9 for 24 hours. On street parking is fine as the meters do not run on the weekends, however make sure you are not in a no parking zone.

Kevin Knox at Angler's envy(left) developed the veneer that will soften in water. the stuff he has is very user friendly and does not crack like other kinds. contact him and he can get you any one of i think almost 400 colors

I called Petri. I found out that they discontinued the product due to lack of sales. I guess we will have to find something else. I hate it as it was the best finish i had found for handles for ease of use, durability, and finished look. the search now begins

I went by Klingspors today and talked to the mgr. He believes they quit carrying it due to lack of sales. He advised many are using the Behlen gel. I dont think it is rated for exterior use but would still probably work. I still love the petri and will have to find some place that has it.
